The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis, research, or therapy, independently or with licensed practitioners. Key duties include ensuring proper patient identification and preparation, optimizing imaging protocols, administering medications as prescribed, evaluating image quality, and applying safety principles to minimize risks. They educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with interventional procedures, and participate in quality improvement activities. The role requires proficiency in routine and complex tasks, adherence to policies, and a commitment to organizational priorities.

Qualifications include certification by ARRT-MR, ARMRIT, or NMTCB, with a radiologic technology degree (Bachelor’s preferred).
