This role supports a licensed pharmacist by preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and managing patient records in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting with medication orders, including IVs and compounded drugs, monitoring stock levels, ensuring sterility standards, and delivering medications promptly to prioritize patient needs.

Utilizes pharmacy software for labeling, billing, reporting, and record-keeping, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Serves as a backup in other department areas as needed and performs related duties.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (current enrollment acceptable), a valid state pharmacy technician license or ability to obtain one within 60 days, and pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT). Prior pharmacy training and excellent communication, problem-solving, basic math, and customer service skills are preferred. Basic computer skills and physical ability to handle up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods are required.

Key duties involve medication preparation, inventory management, regulatory compliance, medication delivery, record-keeping, and supporting departmental functions, with safety precautions to minimize exposure to hazardous substances and injury risks.
