Responsible for performing diagnostic, therapeutic, or research radiologic procedures using ionizing radiation, including radiographic and fluoroscopic techniques. Independently conduct or assist licensed practitioners in imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, proper identification, and preparation. Prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies. Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and data transfer. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with procedures outside the radiology department, such as in the operating room or ICU. Must have graduated from a Radiologic Technology program, with a preference for a related Bachelor's degree. New graduates need ARRT-R certification within 6 months; applicants hired after a certain date must complete steps for level advancement within 24 months. Skills include technical proficiency, attention to detail, patient care, and familiarity with safety protocols and imaging equipment.
