Role Overview

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages, serving as a professional role model and clinical resource for staff and students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops personalized care plans incorporating goals, treatment strategies, and discharge plans, adjusting based on patient response and evidence.
  • Performs patient transfers, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
  • Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and treatment outcomes; conducts examinations and screens patients to assess therapy needs.
  • Utilizes support personnel ethically and legally, monitoring care quality and providing feedback.
  • Documents evaluations, treatment plans, and patient responses in electronic medical records.
  • Completes objective testing for range of motion, strength, and functional performance; administers ultrasound and fluidotherapy treatments.
  • Communicates progress and recommendations with referring providers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) and BLS certification within 30 days.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Ability to perform safe patient transfers, evaluate impairments, and design appropriate care plans.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and clinical assessment skills.
