Role Overview
The Senior Ophthalmic Technician supports physicians in delivering high-quality eye care by managing patient flow, performing clinical and administrative tasks, and assisting with diagnostic testing and procedures.
Key responsibilities include engaging with patients, reviewing medical histories, coordinating prior authorizations, conducting comprehensive pre-examination tests (e.g., visual acuity, OCT, fundus photography), and supporting clinical workflows.
They document encounters in electronic medical records, administer ocular medications, assist during examinations and minor surgeries, and communicate results to physicians and patients.
Maintains exam rooms and equipment, adheres to safety and privacy protocols, and participates in ongoing training to stay current with best practices.

Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician
- Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in computer use
- Ability to stand for extended periods
