We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonatal to geriatric. Key responsibilities include administering therapy, monitoring and weaning oxygen and ventilation support, performing diagnostic tests such as Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs, assisting with airway management, and delivering patient education. The role requires adherence to established policies and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications include an Associate's Degree, a current state license as a Respiratory Therapist, and certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, with Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU-trained therapists, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
Ideal candidates possess excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, along with proficiency in computer applications for data management. They should be capable of performing routine and advanced procedures, documenting clinical information, and educating patients and staff. Knowledge of current healthcare laws and standards is essential.
This role involves physical exertion, including heavy lifting and working in environments with exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential communicable diseases. Candidates must be committed to maintaining professional certifications and staying current with technical and regulatory standards.
