- Assessing patients' nutritional needs
- Developing and implementing dietary plans
- Educating patients on healthy eating habits
- Instructing on post-discharge diets
- Monitoring nutritional status
- Communicating with physicians and care teams
- Documenting in medical records
- Reviewing and revising menus for nutritional adequacy
- Conducting calorie counts and offering recommendations
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- State licensure required
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Food & Nutrition from an accredited institution
- Preferred: Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and one year of clinical dietetics experience
- Strong communication and counseling skills
- Ability to evaluate and adapt dietary plans
