Role Overview: This outpatient psychiatric position requires providing mental health services to adult patients in a correctional setting. The clinician will work full-time, day shifts on-site, delivering comprehensive psychiatric care, including rounding, evaluations, and follow-ups.
Responsibilities: Conduct outpatient psychiatric assessments and treatment for adults, manage severe mental illnesses, perform correctional evaluations, and prescribe medications as needed. The caseload typically involves 8-12 patients per day.
Qualifications & Skills: Board certification is not required. The ideal candidate should have prescriptive authority, experience with adult psychiatric conditions, and the ability to work independently within established clinical protocols.
Support & Environment: The facility includes a support team consisting of a psychiatric MD and a family nurse practitioner, ensuring continuity of care. The on-site setting emphasizes structured mental health services for a correctional population.
