Job Title: Business Operations Manager Reports To: Chief Operating Officer Job Type: Contract Role ($35-$40 per hour, no more than 32 hours a week for 12 months, potential to convert to full-time role)
Location: Fully Remote with preference for Texas or Massachusetts.

Learners use Unmudl to find courses for up-skilling, re-skilling, or self-improvement, while employers use it to create or coordinate courses for training and retraining their workforce to meet hiring needs.
About the Role:
Unmudl is seeking a seasoned professional with financial and operational expertise within a dynamic startup environment. You will be directly responsible for day-to-day operations relating to finance, tax, accounting, payroll, A/P, A/R, as well as supporting HR activities, corporate meetings and events. You will play a vital role in streamlining and simplifying operations, propelling Unmudl towards scalable growth and success.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead Finance & Accounting: Creating and managing financial forecasts, support book-keeper to ensure proper accounting, perform reconciliations, etc
- Drive Financial and Operations Reporting (monthly, quarterly and annual reporting)
- Perform AR/ AP/ Payroll activities to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Manage contracts and vendor performance.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and legal counsel to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Ensure timely Federal, State and local tax filings, Business Registration, Insurance renewals, etc. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage quarterly board meeting schedule, preparation of materials, and communications. Assist in the creation and distribution of board and investor documents.
- Implement and human resources policies and procedures
- Lead people operations including managing hiring and contracting, onboarding, and technology user licenses and access
- Implement employee training and development programs
Preferred Qualifications
- 6-8+ years of work experience in finance, HR and operations at a startup
- Strong financial and business acumen with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage payroll, expenses, and financial reports.
- Expertise with financial/HR software (Quickbooks, Avalara, ADP and Rippling).
- Strong background in analytics, and problem solving complex initiatives
- Proven track record in managing vendor relationships, contracts, and external partnerships.
- Highly collaborative. Ability to work with diverse and remote teams across time zones.
- Strong communication skills with excel and powerpoint proficiency.
- Highly motivated and self-driven to accomplish tasks independently.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments with opportunity to build processes and contribute from the ground up.
